Cupping Marks: How Long They Last, and How to Plan Around Them
In my experience, most cupping marks fade within 3 to 7 days — faster on some clients, closer to the two-week mark on fairer skin or where a cup sat firmly in one place. That's the answer almost every new client is really asking for before they'll agree to try it, and it's worth knowing before you book, not after.

The planning mistake people make
The mistake I see most is someone booking cupping the day before a wedding, a photoshoot, or a beach holiday, then being surprised the marks are still visible. If you've got an event with visible skin coming up, book far enough ahead that marks have time to fade using the range above, or tell me at the start of the session so I keep cups off any area that will be on show.
Why the range varies so much
Skin type, how long a cup sat in one place, and how firm the suction was all change how long a mark sticks around — which is why I can't promise your exact number of days the first time you try it. After one session, I'll have a much better sense of how your skin specifically responds, and can plan around that for anything you've got booked next time. Fairer skin and areas where the cup held still tend to sit at the longer end of the range; a lighter touch on a spot we're already keeping brief tends to fade faster.
What they actually look like, briefly
Round, roughly the size of the cup itself, in pink, red or a deeper purple — not the spreading bruising some people picture beforehand. They don't hurt once the cup is off; the sensation during the session is a dragging tightness, noticeable but not sharp.
When I'll skip a mark in a specific spot
Broken skin, recent sunburn, active skin conditions, or a fresh bruise are all reasons I'll leave cupping out of that spot for the session, even if it's the area you'd expect me to focus on. This comes up in the health questionnaire every visit, but mention it again if anything's changed since you were last in — I'd rather ask twice than miss it once.
If you'd rather skip the marks entirely
Cupping is never the whole session — it's one tool inside the cupping therapy and massage hour, added only where tension is sitting in one specific spot. Tell me at booking and I'll work the same tension with hands only instead; a plain Swedish massage is the better fit if what you actually want is to switch off completely rather than target one area.
Price & booking
Cupping therapy and massage is £60 for 60 minutes, the same price whether cups are used or not. Message me on WhatsApp on 07889 809678 and mention any upcoming event where visible marks would be a problem, or book through the bookings page.
