Cupping Therapy & Massage in Stockwell

Cupping here always comes inside a massage — silicone cups are one tool Elaine might pick up during a 60-minute session, used on the spot that needs them, with hands-on work around it.

A cupping therapy and massage session in progress at Ella Beauty Studio

Cupping here always comes inside a massage. I don't run it as a treatment on its own — there is no appointment where you lie down, I cover your whole back in cups and leave the room. Instead, the cups are one tool I might pick up during a 60-minute massage, used on the spot that needs them, with hands-on work around it. The price is the same whether I use them or not: £60 for the hour.

Cupping as part of a massage, not on its own

When you book the cupping therapy and massage session, you are booking a full 60 minutes on the table. Most of that is a firm, flowing massage. If there is an area holding tension — and we decide that together at the start — I bring in silicone and suction cups there, working them over oiled skin so they glide and lift rather than sitting static. There is no fire and no glass; these are squeeze-and-release cups I can move and adjust as I go. The point is to spend the hour where your body actually wants attention, not to tick off a set routine.

What it feels like and the round marks

The pull of a cup feels odd the first time — a strong, dragging tightness as it lifts the skin, but not sharp and not painful. Where I hold a cup in one place for a moment, it can leave a round mark: a circle of pink, red or sometimes purplish colour from the blood drawn up to the surface. The marks don't hurt, and they usually fade within a few days, though how quickly varies from one person to the next. If you have a backless dress or a holiday coming up in the next week, tell me and we'll keep the cups moving or leave them out altogether. Every session starts with a short health questionnaire, which is where anything that would make cupping a poor idea for you tends to come up.

When I suggest adding cupping

I reach for the cups when someone comes in with tension sitting in one place rather than all over — a tight band across the shoulders, a locked-up lower back, the sort of thing that builds from desk posture, long drives, or carrying a small child on one hip. If what you really want is to switch off and feel relaxed head to toe, a plain Swedish massage does that job better. If your interest is more about body contours and the look of your skin, body sculpting massage is the more sensible booking. I'll say so at the start if I think one of those suits you better than cupping.

Techniques and training

Cupping was part of the same training as my massage work: an ABT-accredited certificate in Swedish body massage, cupping therapy and spa techniques (Associated Beauty Therapists), completed in London in 2026. That course covered anatomy and physiology, the contraindications that rule cupping out for some people, and the practical side of combining suction work with massage in a single session rather than treating it as a separate thing.

Price and booking

The cupping therapy and massage session is £60 for 60 minutes, one-to-one with me, in the same room in Stockwell Green each time — the photo on this page is from a cupping and massage session there. You can see how it sits next to everything else on the full treatment menu, or go straight to the booking page to request a time.

To arrange a session, message me on WhatsApp on 07889 809678, and let me know which day suits you.
